School of Rock NYC – Andrew Savage Collaboration

Overview

Process

On November 7, 2013, I captured a live performance collaboration between Andrew Savage (Parquet Courts) and the School of Rock NYC’s Kings of Brooklyn cast. Shot entirely on an iPhone and edited in Adobe Premiere Rush, the video was produced quickly and independently to highlight the energy of the show and the mentorship between artist and students.

Alongside documenting the event, I contributed to the School of Rock NYC’s social media presence by creating branded digital content for their YouTube channel. The video became their most-viewed upload—surpassing 26K views—and contributed to a 6,567%+ increase in visibility. This project showcases how thoughtful content and fast-turn production can generate high-impact engagement across platforms.

Metrics

Viewership: 26K+ views (6,567%+ increase – most-viewed video on channel)

Retrospective

If I were to revisit this project today, I would refine the audio with light mixing and mastering using iZotope plugins, and opt for editing in Premiere Pro to give me more control over motion, audio balancing, and color.
