Project Overview:

    • The band had a picture that a friend had drawn which they wanted to vectorize into a 4-color t-shirt design for silk screen printing. They also already had a photo they wanted to use for the cover art design. They had a band logo, but they needed to incorporate the EP title, The Wasting Away EP, into a masthead design.
    • I started working on the t-shirt design in Illustrator, I layered and recreated the shapes from the sketch then used a custom brush and the pen tool to create the bottle and the liquid inside. I used an outlined hand type to stick as close to the original design as possible.
    • For the EP package, I edited the cover photo using Lightroom. Then I created a masthead design that worked well with the title and had a wave shape to keep with the beach theme. I used the background from the t-shirt design to pull in the brand and frame the song titles. I used the same design with added effects in Photoshop to make it look like it was drawn in the sand. The open triangular form worked well within a compact disc circular shape.
