As an art and pop culture enthusiast, I pursued a media arts degree, which merged both interests. Chicago’s DePaul University awarded me a Bachelor’s degree. For my major, I studied Art and Art History, with a concentration in Media Arts and an emphasis in Photography and Digital Video. For my minor discipline, I studied Communications with a focus on Media Studies —including pop culture and fandom.
User Experience Design combines my psychology interests with library science experience and my media art and design education. New York City’s Flatiron School Bootcamp awarded me one UX/UI Design certificate. My second UX professional certificate, provided by Google, will help me move from working on fragmented graphic design, web design, and brand identity projects to working on more cohesive transmedia storytelling systems. My cross-media art and storytelling design systems span from digital and print product design to front-end development to marketing collateral.
As a music fan, I attend concerts and sell merchandise for bands. Although I play guitar and write songs, I suffer stage fright. My music, entertainment, and media background allow me to solve design problems for those with similar interests.
