Process Notes

For this iteration, I was trying to convey two genres of Americana music: bluegrass and roots. The image features the shape of an acoustic guitar with the neck above the ground-line and the “body” below. The body-shape is conveyed in the form of tree-like roots. Similarly, the headstock is sprouting branches and leaves in the tuning pegs’ location. This conveys the idea of how music is created through not only use of the instrument, but the thoughts and experiences fo the player (alluded to by the roots). The bluegrass genre is depicted more literally through the use of color along the ground-line. Unfortunately, my time-lapse video didn’t record the entire process.
